Getting started with Graften
Basics
Graften is organised around clients — everything else (assets, risks, change requests, audits, quotes) hangs off a client record. If you're setting up for the first time:
- Add your first client under Clients — even your own MSP business can be added as a "self" client if you want Graften to track your own internal environment too.
- Run an InfraAudit against that client once you've connected at least one data source (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, or an on-prem agent) — this is what populates most of the platform's other views (Risk Register, Patch Dashboard, asset inventory) with real data, rather than empty states.
- Invite your team under Settings → Users — admins can invite teammates as either
subscriber_admin(full access) orsubscriber_user(no user management or billing access). Invited users get an email with a secure link to set their own password; nothing is ever emailed in plaintext.
Most tools in the sidebar will show a genuinely empty state (not fake demo data) until a client has real audit/asset data behind it — that's intentional, not a bug, so you're never looking at numbers that don't reflect reality.
